Cincinnati, Ohio

Cincinnati is a river town built on seven hills, and it has the stairways and the views to prove it. The Roebling Suspension Bridge has crossed the Ohio to Kentucky since 1866, a full seventeen years before its designer's famous one opened in Brooklyn. Findlay Market has sold goetta, sausage and produce since 1855, Over-the-Rhine holds one of the largest Italianate historic districts in the country, and Union Terminal's half-dome still looks like the future the 1930s promised. Locals say 'please?' when they mean 'pardon?', order their chili by the number of ways, and stay loyal to the Queen City through every kind of weather the river throws at them.
