The Everglades is a river fifty miles wide and a few inches deep, sliding south through sawgrass so slowly you cannot see it move. It is the only place on Earth where alligators and crocodiles live side by side, and in the dry season they pile up along the Anhinga Trail boardwalk with anhingas drying their wings on the rails above them. Roseate spoonbills feed in the shallows, the Shark Valley tower looks out over grass to every horizon, and the mangrove maze of the Ten Thousand Islands opens onto the Gulf. Nothing here is tall, and that is the point: the sky does the work.
Our Everglades collection starts with a hand-engraved alligator easing through the sawgrass, a great blue heron standing watch and a lone cypress against a big sky. More scenes are coming for the spoonbills, the Shark Valley tower and the mangrove tunnels. The tee and the vintage tee are for a December paddle at Nine Mile Pond; the crewneck is for the one cold morning a year on the Anhinga Trail; the mug is for the drive back up to Homestead.
