Portland is a city of bridges, roses and people who will defend their neighborhood coffee shop to the death. Twelve bridges cross the Willamette, from the gothic green towers of the St. Johns Bridge to the cable-stayed Tilikum Crossing that carries trains, bikes and feet but no cars. Forest Park is 5,200 acres of trail inside the city limits, the International Rose Test Garden has been blooming in Washington Park since 1917, and on a clear day Mount Hood floats over the east side like a painted backdrop. The food carts, the bookstores, the breweries and the rain all take turns being the thing people talk about.

Our Portland collection is built for the drizzle. The crewneck sweatshirt carries a bridge-and-rose badge in moss green and rain-cloud grey with the 1851 incorporation year, heavy enough for a November walk up Mount Tabor. The tee is a cleaner Portland wordmark with a single bridge tower for a sunny June afternoon, which locals treat as a civic holiday. The mug and the sticker share the same art for the desk and the bike frame.

Everything is original, printed to order in the USA. It is for the Eastside and the Westside, for the lifers who remember when Alberta was quiet, for the transplants who came for the bike lanes and stayed for the Gorge, and for everyone who misses the rain more than they expected to.

Why we love Portland

  • ✦Twelve bridges, one river, and a different view from every one of them
  • ✦Forest Park is 5,200 acres of trail you can reach by city bus
  • ✦The Rose Test Garden has bloomed in Washington Park since 1917
  • ✦Mount Hood shows up over the Eastside the moment the clouds break

Best time to go: June through September for the dry, long-light days when the roses bloom and Mount Hood shows up; the other eight months if you like the city at its mossiest.

Portland apparel FAQ

Is this official City of Portland merchandise?+

No. Every design is original artwork from independent designers. We are not affiliated with the City of Portland, any sports team, the airport, any bookstore or any brewery.

Is the Portland hoodie built for rain?+

It is a midweight cotton-poly fleece, warm and soft but not waterproof. Think of it as the layer under your rain shell, or the one you wear when it is only drizzling, which is most days.

What sizes does the Portland crewneck come in?+

The crewneck runs S to 3XL in a relaxed unisex fit. Each product page has a size chart with chest and body length so you can compare with a sweatshirt you already own.
