Sweatshirts, tees, mugs & souvenirs · Est. 1916 · 223 ft
Carmel-by-the-Sea is one square mile of storybook cottages, no street addresses and a white-sand beach at the bottom of Ocean Avenue. The village has been an artists' colony since the early 1900s, and it still looks the part: Hugh Comstock's fairy-tale houses, the Forest Theater under the pines, and a Mission that Father Serra chose as his headquarters in 1771. Scenic Road curls along the bluff above Carmel Beach, where the dogs run off-leash and the Monterey cypress lean into the wind. Point Lobos, just south, is the finest stretch of shoreline in California that you can walk in an afternoon.
Our Carmel collection takes its cue from those trees. The crewneck sweatshirt carries a windswept pine and cottage badge in forest green and sea fog with the 1916 founding year, warm enough for the cool evenings the village is known for. The tee is a lighter, simpler Carmel-by-the-Sea wordmark for a walk down Ocean Avenue or a sunset on the sand. The mug and sticker use the same artwork, and they look right on a windowsill.
All of it is original art, printed to order in the USA. It is for the people who live in the village year-round, for the ones who come up for the music festival or car week, and for anyone who still dreams about a cottage with a name instead of a number.
